Trekking in Everest with cross over three mountain passes Kongma La (5,535 meters/ 18,159 feet), Cho La (5420 meters/ 17,782 feet), and Renjo La (5,340 meters/ 17,520 feet) is called Everest High Passes Trek route. Everest High Passes Trek route can also said to Everest Circuit trek as this hiking route goes through four valleys of the Everest region. They are Bhotekoshi, Gokyo, Khumbu, and Imja Tse.

Everest High Passes Trek grants to view Mount Everest, Mount Lhotse, Mount Cho Yu, Mount Nuptse, Mount Amadablam, Mount Thamserku, and other peaks. It also gives an opportunity to explore high alpine valleys, narrow ridges, glaciers, mountain villages inhabited by Sherpa people, Buddhist Monasteries in the high land, etc.

In Everest High Passes Trek, Everest Base Camp can also be added just by extra two days of hiking. Thus, most of the trekkers also include Everest Base Camp to visit the foothill of the top of the world and to climb Kalapatthar for the closeup view of Mount Everest and Khumbu glacier.

Everest Three Passes Trek is some challenging than other normal treks because in this trek the trekkers need to cross over 5000 meters mountain passes. However, it does not require any climbing skills. Everyone who is physically fit and has strong determination can join this trek.

Everest High Passes Trek begins boarding a flight to Lukla. From Lukla, the trail follows along the Dudh Koshi River to reach Phakding and Namche Bazaar. Namche Bazaar is considered as the capital of Sherpa land. In Namche Bazaar, you will stay one more day for acclimatization purposes. Leaving Namche Bazaar, you will head towards Tengboche where you can visit famous Buddhist Monastery called Tengboche Monastery. After Tengboche, you trek to Dingboche.

From Lukla to Dingboche, you will follow the classic route of Everest Base Camp. From Dingboche the trail branches off Chhukung valley. At Chhukung, you will stay one more day for acclimatization. Afterward, you will follow the trail that rises with a climb to Kongma La Pass to Lobuche.

From Lobuche, you will be stepping to Everest Base Camp and climb Kalapathhar for panoramic views of Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Amadablam, and other neighboring peaks. Then you trek down to Dzongla before crossing the next pass of Cho La that finally takes you to pristine glacial lakes of Gokyo. At Gokyo you hike up to Gokyo Ri for great panoramic views and make your way towards the final pass of Renjo La. Spending a night at Marlung, you descend towards Namche Bazar and Lukla. After ending the trek at Lukla you take a flight to back Kathmandu.

Everest High Passes Trek Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Tribhuvan International airport, Kathmandu. You will be met our Tour officer and he will escort you to the hotel. O/n at Hotel in Kathmandu

Day 2: Fly to Lukla (2804m/9199ft). Trekking from Lukla to Phakding (Alt. 2610m/8563ft). Walking 4 hours. O/n at Tea House.

Day 3: Trekking from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (Alt. 3441m/11289ft). Walking 6 to 7 hours. O/n at Tea House.

Day 4: Acclimatization day at Namche. Day trip to Shyangboche and Khumjung Village (Alt. 3780m/12402ft). Walking 5 to 6 hours. O/n at Tea House.

Day 5: Trekking from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (Alt. 3860m/12664ft). Walking 6 hours. O/n at Tea House.

Day 6: Trekking from Tengboche to Dingboche (Alt. 4350m/14272ft). Walking 6 hours. O/n at Tea House.

Day 7: Trekking from Dingboche to Chhukung (4730m/15518ft). Walking 4 hours. O/n at Tea House.

Day 8: Acclimatization day at Chhukung. Walking 4 hours. O/n at Tea House.

Day 9: Trekking from Chhukung to Lobuche (Alt.4910m/4910ft) crossing Kongma La Pass (5535m/18159ft). Walking 8 to 9 hours. O/n at Tea House.

Day 10: Trekking from Lobuche to Everest Base Camp (Alt. 5365m/17602ft) then back to Gorak Shep. Walking 7 to 8 hours. O/n at Tea House.

Day 11: Early in the morning hike up to Kalapatthar (Alt. 5555m/18225ft) then trek down to Dzongla (4830m/15850ft). Walking 7 to 8 hours. O/n at Tea House.

Day 12: Trek from Dzongla to Thangnak (4850m/15912ft) crossing Cho La Pass (5330 m/17487ft). Walking 7 to 8 hours. O/n at Tea House.

Day 13: Trek from Thangnak to Gokyo Lake (4750m/15584ft). Walking 3 to 4 hours. O/n at Tea House.

Day 14: Hike up Gokyo Ri (5357m/17575 ft) & rest day in Gokyo. Walking 4 hrs. O/n at Tea House.

Day 15: Trekking from Gokyo to Marlung (4210m/13810ft) crossing Renjo La (5360m/17585ft). Walking 8 to 9 hrs. O/n at Tea House.

Day 16: Trekking from Marlung to Namche Bazaar (Alt. 3441m/11289ft). Walking 6 hours. O/n at Tea House.

Day 17: Trekking from Namche Bazaar to Lukla (Alt.2804m/9199ft). Walking 7:30 hours. O/n at Tea House.

Day 18: Flight back from Lukla. Rest of the day at leisure. O/n at Hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 19: Departure to the home country. Our tour officer will drop you at the international airport and see you off. End of Service.
