Trip Overview


Amadablam Base Camp trek is the most popular introductory trekking route in Everest Area. It’s a fact that Amadablam (6,812 m/22,349 ft) is considered one of the top ten most beautiful mountains in the world. This peak is located near the trail of Everest Base Camp. Therefore, this mountain catches the eyes of every trekker to Everest Base Camp for many days.

The name Amadablam has made joining two worlds ‘Ama’ and ‘Dablam’ meaning ‘Mother’ and ‘Necklace’. The main peak’s two ridges on each side seem like the arms of the mother protecting her child, and the hanging glacier looks like the traditional necklace worn by local women.

Amadablam Base Camp Trek is a relatively short trekking in the Everest Region. However, this trip is loaded with fascinating panoramic views of magnificent Himalayan Peaks. Thus, the Amadablam Base Camp Trek is called as Everest Panoramic Trek.

This trekking provides majestic views of Mt. Everest (8848m), Mt. Lhotse (8516m), Mt. Makalu (8463m), Mt Cho Oyu (8201m), and other twenty-seven mountains in the Everest zone. The pristine lake located at its base camp offers extra excitement to every trekker. The other highlights of this trekking are the visit of Sherpa villages and ancient monasteries, passing through green forest,s and the high valleys.

Amadablam Base Camp trek begins from Lukla and can be reached after 35 minutes of flight. After landing in Lukla, you hike through the Dudh Koshi valley to the Sherpa town ‘Namche Bazaar’. After one extra stay in Namche with acclimatization and exploration, you continue trekking through the lovely forest to Tengboche, the world-famous Buddhist Monastery.

Tengboche is rewarded with views of Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Amadablam, Kangtega, and Tawache. Afterward, you ascend to Pangboche with the following of Amadablam Base Camp. After reaching Amadablam Base Camp you descend to Lukla via Phortse village.

Amadablam Base camp trekking route shares the same trail with the Everest base camp Trek until Pangboche (3930m). From here, it deviates toward the south. It is just a day hiking excursion to the Amadablam Base Camp.

 

Itinerary


You will be met by our Tour officer in Kathmandu International Airport. He will escort you to the hotel. Briefing of Amadablam Base Camp Trekking. Overnight at Hotel in Kathmandu.

Flight 40 minutes. Walking 3 hours. Overnight at Mountain Lodge in Phakding.

Walking 5 hours. Overnight at Mountain Lodge in Namche Bazaar.

Day trip to Shyangboche and Khumjung Village (3780m/12402ft) and trek back to Namche Bazaar. Walking 5 hours. Overnight at Mountain Lodge in Namche Bazaar.

Walking 5 hours. Overnight at Mountain Lodge in Phortse Village.

Walking 5 hours. Overnight at Mountain Lodge in Pangboche.

Walking 6 to 7 hours. Overnight at Mountain Lodge in Pangboche.

Walking 4 to 5 hours.  Overnight at Mountain Lodge in Tengboche.

Walking 4 to 5 hours. Overnight at Mountain Lodge in Namche Bazaar.

Walking 6 to 7 hours. Overnight at Mountain Lodge in Lukla.

Rest of the day at leisure in Kathmandu. Overnight at Hotel in Kathmandu.

Half day sightseeing of World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu including Swoyambhunath and Kathmandu Durbar Square. You can do last minute shopping in Thamel, the tourist market of Kathmandu. Evening farewell dinner with Nepali Cultural shows at an authentic restaurant in Kathmandu. Overnight at Hotel in Kathmandu.
