Mardi Himal Trek for Nepali and Indian People

Trip Overview

Mardi Himal is a short trek in the Annapurna region that will take you through some of the most picturesque, unspoiled destinations in the Annapurna region. This trek route has it all which means it incorporates diversity in the atmosphere, cultural highlights, and great views of the Annapurna Himalayas.

Mardi Himal Trek route lies east of Annapurna Base Camp Trek. Mardi Himal Trek is a moderate-type tea house trek. It is a perfect option for travelers looking for a new trekking adventure. Due to its short length and moderate difficulty level, the Mardi trek is an excellent choice for beginner trekkers.

Although the route officially opened only less than five years ago, it has received very positive reviews from the trekkers of the world around and even from Nepalese hikers. Many Nepali people also join Mardi Himal Trek and enjoy great views of the Annapurna range as well as Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre, and Manaslu.

Mardi Himal Trek journey starts from Pokhara. Spend a night in Pokhara before you drive from Pokhara to Dhampus or Kande. Enjoy a six-hour trek to Forest Camp, located at an altitude of 2,500 m. Continue your journey to Low Camp (2,970 m) and follow the trail to High Camp (3,550 m).

The trail goes through delightful rhododendron woods until you ascend out of the woods at an elevation of 3300m. The setting changes quite unexpectedly into a rough high-peak landscape, with astonishing views of Mardi Himal, Annapurna South, Machhapuchhre, and Hiunchuli.

Your final destination is Mardi Himal Base Camp, the highest point of the trek located at an altitude of 4,500 meters. It is fabulously positioned at the foot of Mardi Himal and the striking Machhapuchhre.

The journey downhill takes you through the beautiful village of Siding, where you will spend a night before driving to Pokhara, where this private, guided trip comes to an end.
