DATE OF HOLI FESTIVAL IN NEPAL

The date of the Holi Festival changes every year in Nepal because it is determined by the lunar calendar rather than the Gregorian calendar. Holi is celebrated on the full moon day (Purnima) of the Hindu month of Falgun. This typically falls in February or March, depending on the year’s lunar cycle.

Hindu priests and astrologers calculate the exact date based on celestial positions, particularly the moon’s phase. This ensures that the festival aligns with its traditional and mythological significance.
