This trip takes you to the beneath of Mount Everest, the tallest peak in this planet. The Everest Base Camp is in the height of 5365 meters/17602 feet from sea level.
The trekking to Everest Base Camp starts from Lukla. To reach Lukla, from Kathmandu it requires to take a short flight of around 35 minutes duration. From Lukla Airfield, the hiking trail follows all the way the footsteps of Sir Edmund Hillary, Tenzing Norgay, the first successful climbers of Mount Everest who summited Mount Everest on May 29th, 1953, and many numbers of climbers who have climbed the Mount Everest.
From Lukla, it takes 8 days to reach Everest Base Camp with doing night stop at Phakding, Namche Bazaar, Tengboche, Dingboche, and Lobuche. In 8 days period, you stay for two nights in Namche Bazaar and Dingboche for acclimatization purpose to adjust with high altitude environment. The total distance from Lukla to Everest Base Camp is 65 kilometers/ 41 miles.
After the visit of Everest Base Camp and climb to Kalapathar, the small peak nearby Everest Base Camp for the best close of view of Mount Everest, you retrace back to Lukla following the same previous trail. Thus, the total kilometer/ miles you need to walk is 130 Kilometers/ 81 miles. You will complete this distance in 12 days by your normal pace of walking.

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu Airport (1400m/4593ft). Overnight at Hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 2: Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla (2804m/9199ft). Trekking from Lukla to Phakding (Alt. 2610m/8563ft).
Walking Distance 8 km. 4 hours of Walking. Overnight at Tea House in Phakding.
Day 3: Trekking from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (Alt. 3441m/11289ft).
Walking Distance 12 km. 6 hours of Walking. Overnight at Tea House in Namche Bazaar.
Day 4: Acclimatization day at Namche. Day trip to Shyangboche and Khumjung (Alt. 3780m/12402ft).
Walking Distance 5 km. 3 hours of Walking. Overnight at Tea House in Namche Bazaar.
Day 5: Trekking from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (Alt. 3860m/12664ft).

Day 10: Early in the morning hike up to Kalapatthar (Alt. 5555m/18225ft) then trek down to Pheriche (4200m/13780ft).
