Trip Overview

Australian Camp Trek is one of the topmost trending short treks in Nepal. This trek gives you rewarding views of Annapurna, Machhapuchre, and Dhaulagiri Himalayan ranges with picturesque villages and lush green hills. In this trek, you will pass villages of different ethnic communities like Magar, Gurung, Brahmin, etc., and have a chance to have insights into their cultures and traditions.

Australian Camp trek might be the best option for the trekkers who have an enduring desire to see the close-up views of the Annapurna ranges on a short hike. It is also suitable to trek with family, friends and even with small children and old parents.

Australian  Camp Trek can also be completed within two days from Pokhara. The below-presented itinerary includes 3 days of hiking.  This trek starts from Phedi and drives one hour from Pokhara.  From Phedi climb up 2 hours to Dhampus village. Dhampus is a beautiful village with a number of slate-roofed houses, paved countrysides, and a Buddhist monastery. After Dhampus, you will start gently climbing up through the rhododendron and oak forests until reaching Pothana. From Pothana, it is around 1-hour trekking with stone staircases to reach Australian Camp.

Australian camp is at the center of the Dhampus Jungle. There are few comfortable lodges. The Australian Camp offers great Jungle scenery and similar views as Poonhill like Annapurna South, Fishtail, Mt Dhaulagiri, Tukuche peak, Dhampus Peak, Nilgiri, and Himchuli. You can enjoy with Sunset view over the Himalayas in the evening.

From Australian Camp, you will hike to Panchase Bhanjyang. The next day early morning hike up to Panchase Peak for the sunrise and for the spectacular mountain scenery (Mt Annapurna, Machhapuchre, Nilgiri, Lamjung Himal, etc. Then continue a few hours of trek to Ghatichina. From Ghatichina drive back to Pokhara.

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu.

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, our officer will receive and welcome you. He/she will be displaying your nameplate outside the airport terminal. You will be then transferred to your respective hotel in our private tourist vehicle. At the hotel, you will have a trip briefing.  Overnight at a hotel in Kathmandu

Day 2: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara.

In the morning, you will be transferred to Tourist Bust Station, Sorahkhutte nearby Thamel to take the bus to Pokhara. The driving distance is 210 km and will take around 7 hours. Pokhara is also called a city of lakes. It also offers a panoramic view of Fishtail Peak (Machhapucharre 6,993m), Annapurna (8,091m), Dhaulagiri (8,167m), Manaslu (8,156m), and Lamjung Himal. Upon reaching Pokhara check in at Hotel. Free and relaxed. You can walk around the lakeside in Pokhara, explore the market and relax. Overnight at hotel in Pokhara

Note: Kathmandu Pokhara is also connected by flight. If you take a flight it will take 25 minutes.

Day 3: Drive from Pokhara to Phedi. Start trek to Dhampus Village and then to Australian Camp (Altitude 2165 meters). Average walking 4/5 hrs

After breakfast, drive from Pokhara to Phedi. It takes about 45 minutes. Start trek from Phedi climbing up with stone staircases through the Rhododendron forest until reaching lower Dhampus. Then, you will gently climb up again passing the terraced fields and small houses. We again keep climbing up through the rhododendron forest until reaching the ridge. Take lunch at Dhampus. After lunch, you will start gently climb up through the rhododendron and oak forests until reaching Pothana. From Pothana, it is around 1-hour trekking with stone staircases to reach Australian Camp.  You will enjoy with Sunset view over the Himalayas in the evening. Overnight at Mountain Lodge

Day 4: Trek from Australian Camp to Kande, then continue trek to Trek to Panchase Bhanjyang (2080 m). Average walking 5/6 hours.

Day 5: Early morning climb to Panchase Peak (2500 m), then back to Panchase Bhanjyan and trek to Ghatichina. Drom from Ghatichina to Pokhara (Altitude 822 meters). Average walking 4/5 hrs.

Early morning, climb towards the Panchase Peak (2500m), 1-hour climb up to reach the top. Enjoy the beautiful sunrise along with the stunning Annapurna Himalayan views from Panchase Temple, the top. Then 1 hour down to Panchase Bhanjyang. Then continue the trek from Panchase Bhanjyang to Ghatichhina (Average walking 3 to 4 hours). Drive from Ghatichinna to Pokhara (45 minutes’ drive). Overnight at a hotel in Pokhara. Overnight at hotel in Pokhara

Day 6: Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu.

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Tourist Bus Terminal at Pokhara. Then you board the tourist bus. You will follow the same highway through beautiful rivers, hills, and small Nepalese settlements. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, check-in at the hotel. Free time to explore Thamel Market. Evening, you will be offered a farewell dinner at a typical Nepali restaurant with a cultural show. Overnight at a hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 7: Departure from Nepal.

The trip concludes today. Our airport representative will drop you at the international airport in Kathmandu for your flight departure from Nepal.
